At East Rock Community & Cultural Studies Magnet School, we believe that reading is one of the most important ways to support your child’s learning and growth. We encourage you to set aside time each day to read with your child or talk with them about what they are reading.
Whether it’s a storybook, a graphic novel, an article, or a chapter book, these conversations build vocabulary, critical thinking skills, and a lifelong love of reading. Ask questions like:
What was your favorite part?
What surprised you?
What do you think will happen next?
