Rosetint Community Theatre, a New Haven–based organization focused on joyful, inclusive, and accessible theatre, is launching Rosebuds, a new musical theatre day camp for young people this summer. We are excited to share several free EMPOWER HER programs being offered in the coming weeks through the City of New Haven Youth and Recreation Department.
These opportunities include sports, STEM, mentoring, and other activities designed to support and uplift our girls.
All programs are free. Families are responsible for transportation to and from the program location. Dates, times, and locations are listed on the flyers attached to this post.

What is Yale Splash?
Splash at Yale is an event that brings high school and middle school students to Yale University for one day of unlimited learning. Students who come take classes in a variety of both conventional and unconventional subjects taught by Yale undergraduate and graduate students!

The goal is to build excitement for teaching and learning. Yale offers a plethora of classes with fascinating content, empowering students to satisfy their curiosities, think critically, and cultivate new passions.

This Spring, Splash will be on Saturday, February 28th, from 10 AM to 3:30 PM and I would like to invite your students to join us! Registration is now open. Splash is $25 for the day, with an option for a $10 T-shirt. Financial Aid is available to all students who need it.

We are offering FREE registration to students in the New Haven Public School (NHPS) system. To qualify, the student must indicate that they are a NHPS student within the Financial Aid Request section found in the registration portal.

It would be greatly appreciated if you could pass the following message along to your students, parents, and teachers! We look forward to seeing your students on Yale’s campus this Spring.

Do you love telling stories, asking great questions, or taking photos? Come join the East Rock Record, our student newspaper for grades 3–8!

What you'll do:

  • Interview classmates, teachers, and community members

  • Write news, features, opinions, and reviews

  • Learn photography, editing, and layout

  • Work with caring mentors and build real-world journalism skills

  • See your work published and shared with our school community

When: Thursdays, 2:30–4:00 PM (weekly)

Where: School Library

Who: Students in grades 3–8 (all experience levels welcome)

Expectations: Come ready to collaborate, meet deadlines, and represent East Rock with pride. Snacks, encouragement, and lots of creativity provided!

Kindergarteners (Regular Ed Students):

  • Students must have a physical per Connecticut state law to begin school

  • Kindergarteners and families use the back door to drop off/pick up students

  • Kindergarten drop off is 7:45 - 8 and pick up is 2-2:10 by a designated adult. Please be timely.

  • Bus Students will have a tag that must stay on his/her bookbag, and will be tagged daily with a wristband.

  • East Rock is a peanut-free environment. If families send lunch, please do not include peanuts or peanut products.

  • On the first day of school, Teachers will greet students at the outdoor tables in the back playground beginning at 7:45a. and staff will confirm transportation at that time.

    If your student will ride the bus that day, please let us know. Thank you for your partnership and attention to these details. We are excited for a great year.!
