East Rock School continues to partner with The Food4Kids program which provides complimentary weekend food bags to students to help support families over the weekend.
Important Program Details:
Participation: Space in the program is limited, and completing this form does not guarantee a spot for your child/children. Slots will be filled on a first-come, first-served or high-need basis.
How it Works: Food bags are discreetly sent home with participating students every Friday in their backpacks.
What's Inside: Bags typically contain kid-friendly items such as cereal, juice, soup, fruit cups, nut-free granola bars, oatmeal, shortbread cookies, and goldfish crackers.

If you need to pick up your student early or make a change to your child's dismissal plan, please visit the East Rock website. Using the black banner at the top of the homepage, navigate to "Dismissal Plan Change Request (1:30 PM Cut Off)" and submit your request no later than 1:30 PM.
For your convenience, QR codes linking directly to the dismissal change form are also affixed to the front window at our main entrance and available in the main office.
Please be reminded that the main office is closed from 1:30 PM to 2:10 PM as staff prepare for student dismissal. To ensure that dismissal changes are communicated accurately and in a timely manner, all requests must be submitted through the online form before the 1:30 PM deadline.
Thank you for your cooperation and support in helping us maintain a safe and efficient dismissal process.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our beloved special educator, Ms. Debbie Fonda. Ms. Fonda dedicated herself to our students and left a lasting impact on our entire school community. Please see the attached information regarding her obituary and visitation services. Greetings! As the weather gets warmer, we want to kindly remind families of our dress code expectations. Please support us by ensuring your student comes to school dressed appropriately:
• No spaghetti strap tank tops or crop tops
• No graphic tees with explicit language or imagery
• Shorts and skirts must be an appropriate length . A good rule of thumb is that the hem should fall no higher than fingertip length when arms are relaxed at the sides
• No slides
We are committed to maintaining a safe, focused learning environment for the remainder of the school year, and we truly appreciate your partnership in reinforcing these expectations at home. Thank you!

What is Yale Splash?
Splash at Yale is an event that brings high school and middle school students to Yale University for one day of unlimited learning. Students who come take classes in a variety of both conventional and unconventional subjects taught by Yale undergraduate and graduate students!
The goal is to build excitement for teaching and learning. Yale offers a plethora of classes with fascinating content, empowering students to satisfy their curiosities, think critically, and cultivate new passions.
This Spring, Splash will be on Saturday, February 28th, from 10 AM to 3:30 PM and I would like to invite your students to join us! Registration is now open. Splash is $25 for the day, with an option for a $10 T-shirt. Financial Aid is available to all students who need it.
We are offering FREE registration to students in the New Haven Public School (NHPS) system. To qualify, the student must indicate that they are a NHPS student within the Financial Aid Request section found in the registration portal.
